Idiopathic Portal Hypertension


Abstract
Idiopathic protal hypertension, also called hepatoportal sclerois, noncirrhotic portal fibrosis, Ban ¢¥i¢¥s syndrome, obliterative portal venopathy, or intrahepatic presinusoidal portal obstruction, is a poorly defi :. clinical entity of obscure etiology. They are characterized by their better prognosis and liver function co pared with that of liver cirrhosis. Surgical liver biopsy specimen showed nomal liver architectures on li i micoscopy. Recently, electron microscopic examination demonstrated the typical widening of Disse¢¥s spaa with deposition of collagen bundles within. We experience two case of idiopathic portal hypertension
with good result of esophageal varix bleeding relief by Sugiura operation and splenorenal shunt.
